The Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA) has released its annual assessment of the IRS’s IT program.

The report’s final assessment: The IRS continues to make progress in many IT program areas, but there’s more work to be done. The audit noted that both TIGTA and the Government Accountability Office identified ways the IRS can more efficiently use its limited resources and make better-informed business decisions.

Also, “problems were reported in the IRS’s handling of the privacy of taxpayer data, access controls, system environment security and separation of duties as well as security policies.” Read the full report here: https://bit.ly/3m5KrG3
