A new COVID-19 relief package in Congress is still up in the air.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has said that the House is looking to move quickly on a new relief package. Sen. Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has indicated that the current GOP-held Senate would like to pass something before the end of the year. There are still many questions about the size and timing of possible relief.
To avoid a government shutdown, Congress needs to act on a government funding measure by Dec. 11. Limited COVID-19 relief may be part of that negotiation. Despite the differences between the parties on the overall size of a package, as well as specific relief provisions, there are areas of agreement. Stay tuned.
