But they’re also a treasure chest of information for identity thieves. To help protect taxpayer security, the IRS has announced that as of Dec. 13, sensitive data on business tax transcripts will be “masked.”

The new tax transcripts will reveal limited details such as: the last four digits of the Employer ID number, Social Security number or other ID; the last four digits of account or telephone numbers; the first four letters of any first and last name or business name; the first six characters of an address; and all money amounts.
